Rick Kurtzbein joined Tier1 Research in October 2010 as a Research Analyst covering the datacenter space. Prior to joining Tier1, Rick had over 20 years of IT experience in several fields. Rick began his career as a contract technical writer on IBM projects before transitioning to project management.

Rick managed software and infrastructure projects at Fortune 500 clients including Sabre Holdings, American Airlines, and Capital One Financial. Rick next joined Unisys as a Transition Manager for datacenter-outsourcing contracts; he later joined IBM in the same datacenter outsourcing role.

Rick holds a BA in English/Technical Writing from the University of North Texas, and the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
