Mark holds the dual role of Datacenter Specialist for Tier1 Research and also Program Director for the EMEA Site Uptime Network for T1R's sister company, the Uptime Institute. In his 20 years in the IT industry, Mark has specialized in the field of datacenter operations for over 10 years, concentrating on the delivery of business-critical services from highly reliable, world-class 24x365 datacenters. Mark is an expert IT consultant with experience in the publishing, oil and gas, telecom and hosting industries. He has acted as both a consultant and senior operational manager in the areas of datacenter operations and management, datacenter security, datacenter design, network architecture, systems and network management, and telecommunications.

Mark was previously part of Dell's Infrastructure Consulting Services (ICS) business as a Global Solutions Architect, and was a Consultant for Intel Solution Services, providing subject-matter expertise and consultancy in the broad field of datacenter management and operations. He was also a VP of Microsoft Service Delivery for Exodus, and a Director of Datacenter Operations for Digital Island. Mark is a Chartered Engineer, European Engineer (Ingénieur Européene) and Chartered IT Professional, in addition to holding ITIL qualifications.
