Research Director, Eco-Efficient IT
Andy Lawrence leads the Datacenter Technologies and the Eco-Efficient IT research practices at The 451 Group, an international enterprise IT analyst firm. Andy has also served as the program director for the Uptime Symposium, a global datacenter management and strategy event, for 2010 and 2011.
Andy is the author of several major reports covering Eco-efficient IT, power management, policy, legislation, compliance and datacenter management and energy efficiency software. He has represented The 451 Group at the Green Grid, and leads eco-efficiency research component in the EU’s Optimis project on open cloud services.
Before joining The 451 Group to focus on eco-efficiency, Andy was the co-founder of Infoconomy, a new generation venture-funded technology publishing and information company, later acquired by Vitesse Media. He was also an influential technology editor, launching several influential magazines and information services which enjoyed critical and commercial success in Europe and the US.
