Paul Taylor

Managing editor
As well as his day-to-day responsibilities as managing editor of the451, Paul uses the news of the moment as the basis for his regular, insightful column.

A co-founder and managing editor, Paul comes to the451 from The Financial Times where he amassed more than 20 years of experience. He spent most of the 1990s writing about the application of IT to business, following such developments as the rise of the Internet and related e-business issues. As the FT's London-based IT correspondent, Paul was instrumental in the launch of the newspaper's monthly FTIT section.

Paul joined the FT in 1978 as a reporter with no specific beat, but spent most of his career writing for the international arm of the paper. This included postings to New York (1982-87), where he began writing about the IT industry, and Bangkok (1990-1991) as Asia business correspondent. Paul also spent five years as foreign news editor based in London.

Paul has a post-graduate degree in journalism and a degree in politics, philosophy and economics from Oxford University, UK.
