John Abbott Bureau chief San Francisco (co-founder)
The West Coast of America continues to be one of the hottest geographical spots for technological innovation and is the place where many of the biggest decisions are still made. Drawing on nearly 20 years experience as a journalist John sets the agenda for the San Francisco team.
Having edited scientific and technology magazines and newsletters, John's most recent role before co-founding the451.com was as West Coast editor for Computergram International.
In the early 1990s, he was founding editor of the monthly magazine Unix News, following several years as editor of Unigram.X. As one of the earliest Unix watchers, John sees many parallels between the early days of the operating system and the emerging Linux technology.
John has a degree in music from Keele University, UK.
