Nick's current focus is enterprise software. Specifically he covers content management, portals, application servers, databases, including XML databases, Web services, and corporate instant messaging and collaboration. He also maintains a long term interest in the struggle for control of the domain name and numbering system.
Although he is now fully focused on editorial matters, Nick used to divide his time between writing and overseeing the development and maintenance of the451's website and technical operations as interim CTO during the company's start-up phase. Prior to the company's launch, he got his hands dirty as full-time CTO.
Before co-founding the451, Nick covered Internet technology for more than five years at Computergram International in New York. Prior to this, he edited Network Briefing Daily and Online Reporter and before that covered Unix and enterprise technology for the influential industry publication, Unigram.X. Nick has presented at industry conferences including Internet World, Comdex and XMLDevCon.
He has a Masters of Science degree in computing science from London University, UK.
