Working in the shadow of Capitol Hill, Tam Harbert helps separate the Washington rhetoric from reality in her regular column for the451 members. Tam's column cuts a swathe through the legislation, regulation and public policy issues that affect the technology industry.
Tam is national editor and Washington bureau chief for Electronic Business, a monthly business magazine for electronics industry executives. She also covers the explosion of Internet businesses and venture capital in the Washington metropolitan and mid-Atlantic regions.
Tam was formerly senior editor at Computerworld, where she edited the finance and investment section of the newspaper. Prior to that she was technology editor at Computer Sources magazine. She has received several writing and editing awards, including a 1999 Jesse H Neal Editorial Achievement Award, presented by the American Business Press for editorial commentary.
Tam has a degree in journalism from the University of Kansas' William Allen White School of Journalism.
