Rachel Chalmers

Rachel is the451's open source and free software expert, and also covers Internet issues in her own inimitable style.

Before joining the San Francisco team Rachel spent more than five years as a freelance news reporter covering technology issues for publications such as New Scientist, Salon.com and The Sydney Morning Herald. She has profiled open source pioneers including Eric Raymond, Bruce Perens, and John Lions, who wrote the first commentary on Unix source code.

She has a Masters degree in Anglo/Irish literature from Trinity College, Dublin.
